Ray Bunt joined Milliron Associates in 2009. Prior to his joining the firm he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, serving the 147th Legislative District (Montgomery County) for 24 years. He provides matter-of-fact guidance through his wealth of "insider’s" knowledge while assisting the firm with client issues and advocacy.
During his tenure in the Legislature, Ray earned a reputation as an honest and hardworking leader. That repute merited his appointment to many Standing Committees including Appropriations, Finance, Judiciary, Health & Welfare, Game & Fisheries, and State Government. Additionally, Ray served 5 terms as the Chairman of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, a position which provided for his involvement in numerous boards and commissions, including but not limited to, the State Agricultural Land Preservation Board, the Agricultural Advisory Board to DEP, and the University Of Pennsylvania Board of Overseers.
Ray was elected by his colleagues to the leadership position of Majority Caucus Secretary in 2004. This honor allowed him to assist in establishing the legislative agenda for the General Assembly. Ray’s participation in House Leadership further confirms his outstanding credibility and headship, as being elected to such a position is a privilege earned by few. He also was elected Chairman of the Council of State Governments – a national legislative group. In 2006, he retired from the House of Representatives.
Ray believes that it is important to be active within your community and he continues to be involved with many local businesses and organizations, and of course statewide politics.
Ray attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA where he majored in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of Penn State University’s Extension course in Municipal Planning. He and his wife, Alexis, live in Spring Mount Pennsylvania and are the proud parents of three children, Raymond Jr., Linda, and Alexis. |
